Chocolate Fountains - What Else Are They Good For?
So you love your chocolate fountain and now you are wondering what other yummy treats could be created in it. Since using the fountain with melted chocolate was such a crowd pleaser, why not expand your horizons a bit? Here are a few ideas for you to try out on your friends and family.
First of all, have you tried all different types of chocolate yet? White chocolate is delicious and can be tinted with food coloring to match the theme of all sorts of parties like bridal showers, Valentines Day parties, etc. Some people have also enjoyed flavoring their chocolate with liqueur such as Kaluha or Grand Marnier if the guests will be adults.
For a unique, sweet treat try using melted caramel in your fountain. Cut up some fruit and pound cake to dip in the caramel. Here is a caramel fondue recipe that works with most fountains. Mix together 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 stick of butter and 1 pound of caramel squares. Melt these ingredients together first and then add to your fountain and enjoy!
How about using the fountain for nacho cheese? This would be a great idea for that Superbowl party or for any event involving kids. My own kids love those nacho chips with the orange cheese you get at football games - they would be in heaven to see their favorite cheese flowing in a fountain! For dippers you could have tortilla chips, pretzels, breadsticks or even mini tacos or quesadillas.
You could also provide a ranch dressing fountain to be used with fresh raw veggies and breadsticks. This would be a fun addition at a bridal shower or any other event with a buffet table. For this idea you would not want to use the heater, so make sure that your fountain has the option of running the motor without using the heater.
Most fountains cans also double as beverage fountains. You could use it for champagne, sangria, fruit punch or even just as a decorative water fountain. Decorations could be used on the top of the fountain and on the different tiers to create a unique and attractive display.
Make sure that you test all of these ideas before you entertain to make sure that they work with your particular fountain. Who knows, you may be inspired to come up with some of your own ideas too!
